In Christ
by Susan Brinley
Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ . . . (2 Cor. 2:14a).
Recently I closed a note to a friend with those two words: In Christ. And just as quickly I stopped short and momentarily evaluated where I was this day: Tired, but "pressing on" with my to-do list, wanting to get more done in less time; foolishly having thought that my time with my God could waitthat it would be more profitable under less pressure and that God would understand because I had "good intentions."
In Christ. Two seemingly harmless words now driving a major point to my heart. In Christ? Who? Not me, not now, I acknowledged. A more truthful choice would have been In Self.
In Christ. Wrapped in His presence. Protected by His love. Eyes open to His path. Ears open to His voice. Hands completing His work. Safe and abiding in Him. Rest, peace, and strength given by His grace in gracious abundance. My worries and 5j ?t
